1996 - 2007
Am/Can Ch. Strawberry's Northern Light was whelped August 16, 1996. Her sire is Am/Can Ch. Strawberry's Conquistador and her dam is Am/Can Ch. Strawberry's Flamenco. When she was about 14 weeks old she was taken to Ron and Uta Marshall where she became the foundation bitch for their Northberry kennel in Prince George British Columbia.
Her trip to BC was memorable because she was able to just barely fit inside a Sherpa carrier. We had to change planes twice and I transited airport departure areas with Casey in the Sherpa on my shoulder pulling my carry-on airport bag. She was so good on the plane. I was allowed to bring the Sherpa out from under my seat except for take-offs and landings. I kept her in the bag with just her head sticking out. She flew with her head on my arm looking out the window as we moved through billowing white clouds. She was the hit of the passengers and flight crew.
Casey finished her Canadian championship and then came to the US in March 1999 to finish her American championship. She did not actually start showing until May and finished her championship on the Tucson AZ circuit in November 1999 going Best of Opposite Sex over specials for the major. She was shown in the US by Jim Bettis with the finishing points by Bruce.
Casey whelped her first litter in May 2000 here in Strawberry and it was memorable for a wild two hour ride to Phoenix from Strawberry for a C-section.
Casey went back in Prince George BC to be with Uta, Ron, Kristen and Caitlin and with her daughter from her litter, Northberry's Southern Belle--sire, Am/Ven Ch. Strawberry's Stargazer.
